“The Auburn Police Department is located 33 miles East of Sacramento, California. The department provides law enforcement services for a population of 14,000 residents covering 7 square miles.
The department has raised over $1,745.00 over the past three years since we first started the Pink Patch Project in 2018.?ÿ
We have dedicated all of our raised proceeds to the Sutter Auburn Radiation Oncology Center, not only because it was local, but because one of our officers received treatment there for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma back in 2018.?ÿ
The first two years we went with a pink patch design, but last year in 2020, we went with a design which encompassed 11 different Cancer Awareness Ribbons.?ÿ
We tried to cover all the prominent cancers as some of our department employees had family members, friends, or knew fellow officers who passed away from cancer and/or were treated for cancer and survived.?ÿ
Our slogan on the patch was “Cops for a Cure” and like everyone, we hope every dollar raised will bring us closer to a cure as cancer affects us all.?ÿ?ÿ
