The Glendale Police Department joined the Pink Patch Project in 2019, and its champion was a Police Communications Specialist (now retired) and breast cancer survivor Casandra Gaarder. This year (2022), the process entailed a redesign with the introduction of our new patch and quality control processes with vendors to make sure the design was just right. So far for the 2022 campaign, over 200 t-shirts have been sold in addition to challenge coins and Glendale Police Department patches to be worn by our officers throughout the month!
In now the fourth year of our agency’s participation for the cause, the Glendale PD Pink Patch Project has raised over $5,000 donated to the Bosom Buddies of Arizona. This is a wonderful example of our 911 heroes going above and beyond their regular duties to make a difference in our community and the global fight against cancer!
