Our community of 40,000 residents sits in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range. Because of the city’s proximity to the popular hiking trails of Tiger, Cougar and Squak mountains, it has earned the nickname Trailhead City.
The city frequently uses its most famous visitor, the Sasquatch, in the #LegendaryIssaquah marketing campaign. The Sasquatch frequently shows up and contributes to community events. Each year, in October, the Sasquatch also shows up on the uniform patches of the Issaquah Police officers.
For the 5th consecutive year, proceeds from the sale of the patch go to the Footprints of Fight charity (www.footprintsoffight.org). The charity supports families who children are battling cancer.
The 2022 patch is now on sale. Anyone interested in purchasing the patch should contact Sergeant Ryan Raulerson at RyanR@issaquahwa.gov for ordering instructions.
