Glendale Fire Department

The GFD Pink Patches are in and are available to be purchased for $10! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Glendale Fire Department has joined forces with ‘The Pink Patch Project’ which is a public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease. It is estimatedthat approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This disease can have a profound impact on the patient and her loved ones.
We have the simple goal of increasing awareness about the life-saving benefits of early detection and intervention in the fight against breast cancer. In addition to our public education efforts, we have the added goal of raising funds from the sale of the Pink Patch Project items to go directly to fund the research, treatment and education needed to help find a cure at one of the local hospitals.
The Glendale Fire Fighters Association - Local 776 has graciously stepped in to purchase one set of patches for ALL personnel in the GFD and to cover the cost of having them sewn on.

Grass Valley Police Department

Grass Valley is a small town located in Nevada County. We are a 5.25 sq. mile city with a population of 12,914. In 2018 local Nevada County agencies including Grass Valley Police, Nevada City Police, Nevada County Sheriff and Truckee Police teamed up to start their very own Pink Patch Program. With the grand efforts of the Nevada County Residents, through Pink Patch purchases and donations, we were able to raise over $15,000 to donate to the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation to help fund the Breast Caner Imagine Center. This year we are teaming up with the local agencies to help reach new heights for Breast Cancer Awarness. In 2020 we started a new Pink Patch Challenge Coin tradition. Every year a community member will design one side of the coin. The coins will change every year and each years design will retire after every coin is sold.
