Why this program is special to us:
In 2017 now retired Officer Kirsten Heineman was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Officer Heineman became the departments first full time female Officer and served for over 11 years. During her time with the MVPD Officer Heineman worked as a Patrol Officer, in addition to helping establish the Neighborhood Resource Officer Position. While completing radiation treatment Officer Heineman continued to work, and returned after recovering from each of her three surgery's. Officer Heineman’s dedication to the Job and the City of Mounds View is unparalleled. We are proud to be able to say that she made a full recovery. Participating in the Pink Patch Project is a small way our Department can show our support to her, as well as anyone who has been affected by Breast Cancer. Officer Heineman has requested that all proceeds be donated to the American Cancer Society.
