The UNC Charlotte Police Department is a fully sworn and authorized state agency made up of 54 dedicated officers and command staff. UNC Charlotte has the second largest enrollment in the state system at just over 30,000. This is the first year our agency has ventured into the Pink Patch Project. Our department designed and wore pink badges as a show of support by all those affected by, know someone who is fighting, or those who have lost someone to this deadly disease. This year the department worked with The Emblem Authority to design a stunning pink version of our current shoulder patch. As a trial the department produced and sold out all 100 patches. This years donation of $1000 will be going to Pink House Charlotte (Carolina Breast Friends), a local organization that assists those affected by breast cancer. In future years, the department will re-create pink versions, of previous styles of department worn shoulder patches, to continue to help those in need.
