The West Hempfield Township Police Department is located in Lancaster County, PA. The department was established by resolution by the West Hempfield Township Board of Supervisors on September 6, 1960. The Department provides 24-hour full law enforcement services to the residents of West Hempfield Township, as well as Mountville Borough.
Under the direction of Chief Lisa Layden, the police department employs 21 full-time police officers and 2 administrative personnel. Officers include the Chief of Police, 5 Sergeants, 1 Corporal, 1 Detective and 13 Patrol Officers. Several department officers are assigned to various county task forces and teams to include Lancaster County S.E.R.T, Major Crimes Unit, Forensics Unit, Crisis Intervention, and the Regional Crash Scene Investigative Unit. The West Hempfield Township Police Department prides itself in being responsive to the needs of the public it serves as well as being a proactive law enforcement agency.
This will be the first year the West Hempfield Township Police department is participating in the #PinkPatchProject. We, along with multiple agencies in Lancaster County are raising money for the Suzanne H. Arnold Center for Breath Health. We Look forward to participating and look to expand in the future for more options to buy and support the Pink Patch Project.
