The Bellingham Police Department is located 18 miles south of the Canadian border in NW Washington. The department provides law enforcement services for a population of 91,000 residents covering 28.9 square miles. We are centrally located between Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA. We are on Puget Sound and have Mt Baker directly to the east.
We wear pink patches and badges for the month of October as authorized by Chief Rebecca Mertzig.
This is the second year we have wrapped one of our PUV’s in pink for the month of October. This year the car goes from pink to purple to also recognize domestic violence awareness month. You can see our car on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bellinghampolice.
