The California State University Channel Islands Police Department is located on the main campus of CSU Channel Islands in Camarillo, California. California State University Channel Islands is located halfway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, nestled against the base of the Santa Monica Mountains and a mere 10 minute drive from the ocean. The department provides law enforcement services for a population of 8,100 students, faculty, and staff. In addition to providing law enforcement services for the campus, the department provides law enforcement services to University Glen, a public residential community adjacent to the campus, with a population of approximately 3,000 residents.
The department joined the Pink Patch Project in 2017 and began fundraising efforts in 2018. We have dedicated our fundraising efforts to establishing a scholarship on campus for students who are or have been affected by cancer.
Throughout the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, CSU Channel Islands Police Department uniformed personnel wear pink patches on their uniform and attend community outreach events to stimulate conversation and raise awareness of breast cancer.
Pink Patches are available to be purchased online at https://www.csuci.edu/giving/pink-patch-proj.htm or on campus in the Police Department lobby located in Placer Hall Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
