The California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Police Department provides law enforcement services for over 40,000 community members that make up the faculty, staff, and students of CSULB. The Department has uniformed officers on patrol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Officers are vested with full police powers and are considered to be state peace officers under California Penal Code section 830.2(c). Officers are also P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certified, and receive the same training as sheriff’s and municipal police departments within the State of California.
The primary jurisdiction of the CSULB Police Department is on all University property and a one mile radius surrounding all campus property (as indicated in the California Education Code section 89560). However, officers may extend this jurisdiction to anywhere in the state in the performance of their duties.
The CSULB Police Department is proud to continue their participation in the Pink Patch Project, and looks forward to helping raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause.
