The Lower Allen Township Police Department has an authorized sworn compliment of 26 officers. The department has a coverage area of approximately 10.5 square miles with a resident population of over 18,000 and handles in excess of 14,000 calls for service annually. Lower Allen Township is a suburb of Harrisburg, the State Capital and a crossroads for several interstate highways serving Harrisburg, Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia areas.
The year 2020 was the first year that the department participated in the Pink Patch Project. All proceeds are donated to the organization, Pink Hands of Hope, located locally in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Pink Hands of Hope is a non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to helping women in Central Pennsylvania during their fight with breast cancer. Pink Hands of Hope supplies free products and services to help make the journey a little easier.
The Lower Allen Township Police Department also participates in “No Shave November” as well as “Nifty Nails November”. The money raised from this is also donated to Pink Hands of Hope.
Patches will be available October 1st, and can be purchased at the Lower Allen Township Police Station or by mail with the order form in the link below. Patches are being sold for $10 per patch. Checks along with the order form should be mailed to the police station at the attention of Officer Kimberly Moore. Checks can be made payable to “Pink Hands of Hope”.
