The Mechanicsburg Police Department is located in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Our borough is located approximately 8 miles west of Harrisburg, the state Capital. The department has a sworn staff of 15. The Borough of Mechanicsburg was incorporated in 1828. The Borough had a population of over 8,000 residents as of the 2010 census.?ÿ ?ÿ
2020 is the first year the police department is participating with the Pink Patch Project. We are raising funds for Pink Hands of Hope. Pink Hands of Hope is a non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to helping women in Central Pennsylvania during their fight with breast cancer. They provide free products and services to try to help make the journey a little easier. They offer wigs, caps, clothing, shawls, knitted knockers, and many other items at no cost. Pink Hands of Hope also offers service, such as free hair and make up make-overs when patients are in remission, assistance with medical bill payment, gift help during the holidays and much more.?ÿwww.pinkshandsofhope.org?ÿ
Our agency is joining with other law enforcement agencies in Cumberland County, raising funds and donating proceeds to Pink Hands of Hope. The department will continue raising funds in the month of November as well. Those funds will also go to Pink Hands of Hope.?ÿ
