This is Mundelein’s second year with the @PinkPatch. We are very excited to be a part of this innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to and support the fight against breast cancer. The program originated in 2013 with the Seal Beach Police Department in Southern California and has expanded to several hundred partner agencies worldwide including; police, sheriff, fire, EMS, and federal departments.
During the month of October, Mundelein Police Departments Police and Community Service Officers have the option of wearing a pink commemorative patch in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
The department has made smaller collectable patches available to the public for purchase. Patches can be purchased for $10 at the Mundelein Police Departments Records Department located in the lower-level lobby, 221 North Lake Street, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For those unable to purchase in person, please send an email of interest to mpd@mundelein.org. All proceeds from the sales of these patches will benefit local cancer research.
